
Several action items were considered during the meeting of the Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works on Thursday, March 11.
The board approved two items for the Underground Facilities Department: a recommendation to install approximately 1,800 feet of 8-inch C900 pipe on East Gordon Street from South Redman to Lincoln Avenues to complete the cross-town tie with an approximate cost of $125,000 using in-house labor and equipment; and a recommendation to request bids to rehab approximately 13,000 feet of sewer main using the Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) method with a budget of $350,000.
For IT and Broadband, the board approved a bid of $8,995.76 for a utility body for a fibre truck from Knapheide in Jefferson City.
With a budget of $35,000, in the Electric Production Department, the board approved a motion to calibrate and repair Units 10 and 11 and request proposals for services of a field representative to oversee work on the units.
And for the Water Treatment Department, the board approved a motion to request bids to replace doors, door frames, all hardware and installation. The budgeted amount is $25,000.
In other business, the board received an update on the Water System Risk and Resiliency plan from representatives of McClure Engineering. It also was reported the power plant demolition is moving right along.
