Two Sedalia residents are facing multiple felonies following a traffic stop in December.
On December 18, a Sedalia Police officer conducted a traffic stop and the passenger, Aaron R. Williams, fled the vehicle and was arrested nearby.
Authorities located a handgun in the area where the passenger had fled. In the vehicle, with the help of a canine, authorities were able to locate and seize 22 grams of methamphetamine. More drugs were found when officers searched Aaron Williams’ motel room.
Both the driver and the passenger are facing charges.
34-year-old Aaron Williams waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty, on February 1, to a Class B Felony for Trafficking Drugs in the Second Degree; a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance; and Class D Felonies for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
A two-day jury trial for Aaron Williams is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., Tuesday, June 22 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
The driver of the vehicle, 34-year-old Andrew J. Williams is charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance and a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance. He posted $25,000 surety bond on January 20.
Andrew Williams next court appearance is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
