An out of state driver was killed in a vehicle crash on I-70 in Lafayette County on Tuesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the westbound F350, driven by 59-year-old Leroy Jenkins, of Stanley, North Carolina, traveled off the roadway, down an embankment and across the outer road before striking an electrical pole. Jenkins was pronounced deceased at the scene at 12 p.m. by Lafayette County Coroner, Dr. Pulliam.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. on I-70 westbound at the 30.6 mile marker
