Area law-enforcement officers arrested a Grain Valley man on Monday, March 15.
According to a release from Cooper County Sheriff Chris Class, deputies on patrol checked on a suspicious vehicle and occupant at Eagle Stop on Highway135. The occupant was identified as Vincent P. Reek, who was found to have two out-of-county, no-bond warrants for his arrest for probation violations. Reek, who was found to be in the possession of drug paraphernalia and a firearm, was taken into custody. Reek is a convicted felon and is not allowed to be in possession of any firearm.
On March 16, deputies received a delayed hit that the plates on Reek’s truck belonged to a stolen car from Grain Valley. The investigation led deputies to a residence on Santa Fe Trail in Cooper County, where they recovered the license plates along with the stolen vehicle from Grain Valley.
As the investigation developed, deputies also located and seized firearms, marijuana and items used in the cultivation of marijuana inside the residence where Reek and two other individuals were staying. The stolen vehicle was towed from the scene, and the victim was notified of the recovery.
Charges are pending for Reek and the two other occupants of the residence in reference to these incidents.
