A 28-year-old Sedalia woman accused of leaving her three-year-old child unattended at a residence for an extended period of time has been ordered to spend some time in jail.
The 3-year-old boy was found unattended when a maintenance worker went to the residence on May 20 to repair a door.
An investigation led authorities to find out the child’s mother, Tamalon Lynn Wallace had been in jail in Kansas and was released from custody on May 21. During an interview with authorities on November 19, Wallace told authorities that she had been taking medication that caused her to lose track of time.
Tamalon Lynn Wallace entered an Alford Plea on March 15. She pleaded guilty to a Class B Felony for Abandonment of a Child; and Class D Felonies for Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the First Degree and Abuse or Neglect-No Sexual Contact.
The Court has ordered Wallace to spend five years in the Department of Corrections.
