probation-violation-3-17

In 2018, two Sedalia residents were charged with a felony for allegedly setting a fire in their own home. Both subjects entered Alford pleas and were sentenced to supervised probation, but one was recently back in court for violating his probation.

Robert Modrall entered an Alford Plea to a Class D Felony for Second-Degree Arson and was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on April 15, 2019. However, the sentence was suspended, and Modrall, who is now 40 years old, was sentenced to five years of supervised probation.

The court filed a probation-violation charge against Modrall on September 1, 2020.

During a hearing on March 15, Modrell confessed to violating his probation. Modrell’s probation was revoked and he has been ordered to report to the Pettis County Jail on April 5 to serve out the balance of the original five year sentence.
