Two area men are facing felony charges for their alleged involvement in a shooting incident that took place in September in Pettis County.

During the early morning hours of September 2, officers with the Sedalia Police Department responded to a call in reference to a shooting incident that had taken place. All subjects had left the scene prior to the officer’s arrival.

The two suspects were identified at 19-year-old Evans Okine Weber and Deris R. Broussard, who is now 19-year-old. The men allegedly fired several shots that struck a vehicle containing four occupants. One of the bullets also struck a nearby residence. There were no injuries reported.

Each of the defendants are charged with three counts of a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt. Broussard has also been charged with three counts and Weber with two counts of an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. In addition, Broussard is facing two counts of a Class B Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Both men continue to be held without bond.

Both men waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty as charged. Both defendants are scheduled to be in court at 9 a.m., Monday, March 19 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
