A Toledo, Ohio man is facing multiple felonies following a traffic stop in Cooper County on March 10.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, during a routine traffic stop, the trooper observed marijuana leaves and a cylinder rubber container near the middle console.

The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Shawn Leonard, reportedly admitted that the rubber cylinder, possessed THC concentrate and that he was also in possession of a Vape pen used to smoke the THC concentrate.

During a search of the vehicle, the trooper located a locked bag that Leonard refused to provide the combination for. Shortly after, Leonard exited the patrol car and resisted arrest. Leonard then charged the trooper before being taken to the ground. Shortly after, Leonard was taken into custody.

The trooper seized a baggie containing 59 grams of marijuana, three amphetamine and dextroamphetamine pills, 13 Diazepam pills, 11 grams of THC concentrate, 29 grams of THC infused edibles, three grams of THC oil, Several drug paraphernalia related items. Leonard was transported to the Cooper County Jail and released to jail staff.

Leonard is being charged with three Class D Felonies for Possession of Controlled Substance except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoids along with a Class E Felony for Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony. Leonard posted $20,000 surety bond on March 12.

His next court appearance is pending at Cooper County Circuit Court.
