The Sweet Springs R-7 School Board approved a calendar for the 2021-22 school year during its meeting on Tuesday, March 16.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, staff members voted on three options. Option B received 28 votes, Option A 13 votes and Option C two votes. So during the meeting, the school board approved Option B unanimously.

Some of the important dates are:

• First day of school August 26;
• Thanksgiving Break November 22-26;
• Winter Break December 20-January 4;
• Spring Break March 15-18;
• No school April 14-18; and
• Last day of school (a half day)- May 20.

In other news, the board approved a request from the Sweet Springs Recreation Board to use the district’s softball and baseball fields for its summer recreation season.
