Virginia Clough O’Neal, age 104, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, March 18, 2021, in Marshall.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22, at Smith Chapel Cemetery in rural Marshall. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church.

Memorials are suggested to Smith Chapel United Methodist Church or Smith Chapel Cemetery in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born January 28, 1917, in Saline County, MO, she was the daughter of the late Charles Roy Clough Sr. and Nadine Bramble Clough.  She was a lifelong Saline County resident and a 1934 graduate of Marshall High School. On February 2, 1935, she married Charles M. O’Neal who preceded her in death on February 25, 2007. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and a charter member of W.S.C.S. She was also a member of Missouri Farm Bureau and served for many years as secretary for Elgin R-12 School board.

Survivors include three children, Wayne O’Neal (Susan) of rural Marshall, Karen Ladd (Larry) of Mahomet, IL and Gary O’Neal (Kathy) of Farley, MO; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Roy “Tuffy” Clough Jr.
