
A 60-year-old Lexington man had to be flown from the scene after he was accidentally struck by a vehicle in Ray County on Saturday, March 20.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened as a southbound vehicle, driven by 63-year-old Donald Thomas, of Lexington, was stopped and a passenger, Ronald Mings had exited the vehicle and became a pedestrian. Thomas accidentally accelerated the vehicle and it struck Mings.
Mings was flown by Air Ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment. Thomas was not injured.
The accident happened at 2:30 p.m. on Wellington, north of West 88th Street in Richmond.
