One of three defendant’s accused of multiple felonies, including kidnapping, nearly three years ago has changed his plea.

A release from the Higginsville Police Department says on April 26, 2018, authorities arrived at the scene of the reported kidnapping at the Super 8 Motel in Higginsville and arrested the three men, who allegedly held two females against their will; raped and assaulted them; and demanded ransom money.

Jaciel Acdala Mendez-Morales, who is now 21 years old, 25-year-old Alain Gaspar Camarillo-Linan are facing multiple felonies- including Class A Felonies for Kidnapping in the First Degree; Unclassified Felonies for Rape or Attempt; and Unclassified Felonies for Sodomy or Attempt. Mendez-Morales continues to be held on $500,000 and Camarillo-Linan on $750,000 cash-only bond at the Lafayette County Jail.

A week before his jury trial was scheduled to begin, charges against 24-year-old Luis Angel Sierra-Vallina were amended. Sierra-Vallina pleaded guilty to two Class C Felonies for Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. A Sentencing Hearing in his case is scheduled for 3 p.m., May 17.

A week long jury trial for the other two defendants is scheduled to begin Monday, March 29 at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
