A Sweet Springs man is facing a couple of felony charges after an incident on March 18.
According to a probable-cause statement, a deputy transported David Diodonet to the Saline County Sheriff’s Department to be placed on a 24-hour hold on behalf of the Marshall Police Department on suspicion of trespassing, property damage and resisting arrest.
Upon arrival at the Sheriff’s Department, Diodonet was brought inside the secure area. Due to his combative behavior during his arrest and continued verbal abuse of a deputy, he was placed in a restraint chair in a cell, which housed no other inmates, and nobody else had access to it. After Diodonet calmed down and was removed from the chair, he was strip searched and placed in a jail uniform.
Searching his clothing, authorities say they found “Knuckles” that contained a folding knife in the palm portion; and three small Ziploc-style baggies containing controlled substances.
Court documents say Diodonet is charged with a Class B Felony for Delivery or Possession of a Weapon at a County Jail; a Class D Felony for Delivery or Possession of a Controlled Substance at a County Jail; and two misdemeanors. Bond is set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Diodonet’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
