
A Carrollton man was killed and two other injured in a roll over traffic crash in Saline County on Thursday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred when the southbound vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Nathan Pitts-Burkhart, of Carrollton, was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when the vehicle began to skid on the corner, ran off the right side of the roadway and over turned. The 2006 Toyota Scion came to rest off of the roadway, on its top. Pitts-Burkhart and a front seat passenger were partially ejected from the vehicle.
Pitts-Burkhart was killed as a result of the crash. He was transported to the Saline County Coroner’s Office. 27-year-old Christopher Bigby, of Sedalia sustained moderate injuries and 19-year-old Jonathan Bruce, of Carrollton sustained minor injuries. Both Bigby and Bruce were transported by Ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment. According to the report, none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat-belts.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. on U.S. Highway 65, just west of Route BB.
