A 19 year old Malta Bend resident is facing sex related felonies in Saline County.

On March 26, the mother of a 15-year-old juvenile reported to authorities that her daughter alleged that she had been raped, on two separate occasions by Jayden Browder.

The first incident allegedly occurred, approximately a month ago at the victim’s apartment in Marshall. The juvenile claims she and Browder were watching a movie when Browder began touching her and forced himself upon her and raped her.

The second incident allegedly occurred on March 16 at Browder’s residence in Malta Bend. The victim claims Browder provided her with marijuana and that during late night/ early morning Browder forcibly raped her.

On March 23, 2021, the alleged victim completed a forensic interview at Child Safe in Sedalia and gave an explicit, detailed description of both incidents.

On March 30, representative from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department traveled to Malta Bend to get a description of Browder’s residence and search the home. Upon arriving, he observed several trash bags that had been placed at the curb for pickup. The trash was transported to the Saline County Sheriff’s Department and searched. The trash contained several items which consistent with evidence of the crime. During a search of the residence, the deputy found more evidence that substantiated the girl’s claims. As a result, Browder was taken into custody.

Browder is charged with two Unclassified sex-related felonies. Bond is set at $250,000 cash only.

Browder was arraigned on March 31. The Court has set the matter for release hearing and counsel status at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 7 at Saline County Circuit Court.
