
A rollover crash in Lafayette County on Tuesday, April 6 sent the driver to the hospital.
The Waverly Police Department reports, at approximately 4:23 p.m. on Tuesday, it received a report in regards to a single vehicle crash just south of the Missouri River bridge on US-Highway 65. While responding to the crash, the department received additional information that the involved vehicle was reported minutes before the crash as a “careless and imprudent driver,” by several passing motorists.
Once on scene, a 33-year-old female, who was found to be the sole occupant of the crashed vehicle, was trapped inside, unconscious, and not breathing.
The assistance of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Carrollton Fire Department, Waverly Fire Department, Lexington Ambulance Service, and Missouri State Highway Patrol were requested to assist in removing the trapped occupant and traffic control for the scene. The female, who regained consciousness and began breathing, was removed from the crashed vehicle and life-flighted to a Level 2 trauma center near Kansas City.
The extent of the injuries sustained by the occupant of the crashed vehicle is unknown at this time. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
