An area fugitive wanted on multiple active warrants is now behind bars.

According to the Marshall Police Department, 32-year-old Justin Ethan Scharnhorst is in custody.

Scharnhorst has several active warrants in reference to Domestic Assault investigations.

According to most-recent court documents, a warrant was issued on March 29, and Scharnhorst is charged with a Class D Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; Class E Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting; as well as a misdemeanor for kidnapping. The court has ordered no bond.

Scharnhorst was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, April 7. His next hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
