The Sweet Springs R-7 School Board discussed the Senior Trip during its meeting on Thursday, April 8.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, it was determined a committee- consisting of administration, sponsors, board members and students- will be formed to restructure the senior trip with new parameters and guidelines.

The committee is scheduled to present its plans at the May board meeting. No vote was taken.

In other business, every two years, the district receives bus proposals to keep current with bus replacements. Transportation Director Randy Bredehoeft reported three bids were received: Midwest Bus Sales Inc (Thomas Bus), Central States Bus Sales (Bluebird Bus) and Midwest Transit Equipment (International Bus).

The board approved the Midwest Bus Sales’ (Thomas Bus with a four-camera system installed) bid of $91,763.

In other news, the board gave its approval for The Blazer’s Elite, a local competitive softball team, to use the district’s softball field from time to time for practices if the city fields are taken; and set the next meeting for 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 13.
