Several bids were approved during the most-recent Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen meeting.

Unofficial minutes from the meeting say aldermen approved a motion to buy a garage door for $2,345 from Marshall Garage Door.

Aldermen also gave the green light to accept a bid of $5,800 for Randall Fiene CPA to perform the city’s audit.

In addition, the board approved bids from Red Letter Management of $500 for dragging and $500 for marking the ball fields.

Aldermen also approved the Public Works Department to purchase a computer for $769.99 from Staples.

In other news, aldermen approved the Transient Guest Tax disbursement- $2,500 for the Tractor Pull; $200 for the Sweet Springs Revitalization Lighted Christmas Parade; $7,500 for Sweet Springs MotorSports Complex; $1,050 for the Sweet Springs Optimist Club; $3,000 for The Rookery Theater Sweet Springs Shearing Shenanigans; and $2,000 for the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation Truck Rodeo.

Alderman Wyatt Lea said groups can request Transient Guest Tax money from the Board of Aldermen anytime during the year if an event comes up.
