The Marshall City Council approved a couple of bids during its meeting on Monday, April 19.

Municipal Services Director Bill Anderson explained tree trimming is necessary near the airport.

Anderson said 14 of the trees will be completely removed and the other four will be topped. They are mostly on the north side of the airport on private property but have to be addressed. Anderson said all of the homeowners have been notified. The council approved the requested bid.

Anderson also explained some pavement marking is necessary.

The bid was approved.

The council also approved the second reading of an ordinance to execute a supplemental agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission concerning mill and overlay of certain streets. Anderson explained this is just a formality so the city can be reimbursed for the streets that were paved during the 2020 construction cycle.

In addition, the council approved the request from the Midwest Hydrocephalus Coalition to hold a Poker Run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 11. That will include a street closure- Washington Street between Odell and Jefferson Avenues.
