The Concordia Board of Aldermen approved the Municipal Election results during its meeting on Monday, April 19.

According to unofficial minutes from the meeting, the appointment of Beth Kruse to fill the two-year term vacated by Dwight Emde was approved. Mayor Michael Brown also thanked Rob Hemme for serving two years as an alderman.

The board discussed assignment of a portion of the recently passed one-half percent capital-improvements tax to Edwin A. Pape Lake. City Administrator Dale Klussman said it will be done by ordinance once it is determined how much to assign to the lake capital improvements. Alderman Kaleb Nierman said he would like to see dredging and taking care of the water before extra parking for fishing or restrooms. Alderman Kruse says she feels one-quarter of a cent for the lake is appropriate. Aldermen approved the city administrator to bring an ordinance to the board for one-quarter of a cent to go to the lake with the intent of dredging being done in the future.

In other business, appointments were approved to various advisory boards:
Planning and Zoning- Mary Beth Scherer;
Lake Board- Kruse;
Parks & Rec- Kruse;
Tourism- Kaleb Nierman;
Communications- Kent Fuchs; and
Museum liaison- Fuchs.

Aldermen also approved the appointment of Dwight Emde to the Tourism Committee.
