A 38-year-old Sedalia man changed his plea to a lesser charge following an assault that took place in February, last year, in Pettis County.
On February 28, 2020, the Sedalia Police Department responded to the call of a domestic dispute, where a woman claimed Shiloh D. Best had struck her in the head with a hammer.
Best was originally charged with a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. On Monday, April 19, Best withdrew his not guilty plea and pleaded guilty to a driving related misdemeanor.
The Court ordered Best to 120 day in jail. Execution of his sentence has been suspended and he has been placed on two years probation.
