A 26-year-old Coral Gables, Florida, man had to be flown from the scene of a traffic crash involving three big trucks that affected traffic flow for a few hours on eastbound I-70 on Friday, April 23.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a Peterbilt, driven by 53-year-old Mark Thrasher, of Sturgis, Michigan, and a freightliner, driven by 35-year-old Tanya Aboseada, of Avon, Indiana, were slowing to enter a construction zone, and a freighliner, driven by Dieguez Dianel, struck the rear of the Peterbilt, which caused it to strike the rear of Thrasher’s freighliner. All of the vehicles came to rest in the right lane of traffic.

While Thrasher and Aboseada were not injured, Dianel was flown by Life Flight Eagle Air Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.

The crash happened at 3:45 p.m. at the 76.4 mile marker.
