
A Howard County Sheriff’s department report says deputies were dispatched on December 19, to a report of an assault in progress between a male and female. While authorities were on the scene, and Ian Hugh Brennan failed to comply with their orders.
As a result of his failure to comply with law enforcement, 62-year-old Ian Hugh Brennan had to be Tased, but it had no effect. Eventually authorities had to wrestle Brennan to the ground, and he continued to resist. Eventually Brennan was handcuffed. During the scuffle, one of the deputies suffered injuries.
Brennan is charged with a Class D Felony for Assault in the Third Degree- Special Victim; and misdemeanors for resisting arrest and assault in the fourth degree.
The Court amended Brennan’s bond and set it at $4950 with ten-percent surety allowed. Brennan posted ten-percent of the reduced bond on January 15.
Brennan’s attorney waived formal arraignment on April 26. A disposition hearing is scheduled for 9:10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, at Howard County Circuit Court.
