For those still seeking a COVID-19 vaccine, registering on the Fitzgibbon Hospital website will continue to be the primary way to get scheduled.

With declining numbers of individuals presenting at recent walk-in vaccination clinics, officials say Fitzgibbon Hospital and affiliated physician offices in Marshall, Brunswick, Slater and Fayette are transitioning the administration of the vaccine back into the office setting. While second-dose clinics the first two weeks of May will still occur, future vaccines administered via Fitzgibbon will be administered by appointment only.

Individuals can go to www.fitzgibbon.org/preregister to sign up to receive the vaccine. After registration, a member of the scheduling staff will call to set up the appointment at a Fitzgibbon clinic that is the most convenient for them. Currently, there will be no out-of-pocket cost if the appointment is for COVID-19 vaccine only, and you do not have to be a current Fitzgibbon Hospital or clinic patient to receive the vaccine.

To date, Fitzgibbon Hospital has been able to administer more than 12,000 vaccines in addition to providing additional vaccine to neighboring communities through “re-distribution agreements,” allowing for vaccine which might go unused to be distributed to a partner agency for administration. Events have been held since January in Marshall, Brunswick, Slater, Fayette and Glasgow, with a majority of the vaccines being manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna.
