A 31-year-old area woman charged with a felony in connection to the death of a Slater woman remains in custody.

Deseray Heyer was arrested on February 3 after authorities were called to a Slater residence where the body of 56-year-old Sharon Lamm was found deceased. Lamm had been reported as missing since January 30.

Heyer was formally arraigned and pleaded not guilty on Monday, April 26 to a felony charge for abandonment of a corpse. Bond is set at $50,000. She also is charged in a separate case with felony assault. Bond for this charge is set at $10,000 cash only.

A Plea/Trial Setting in this case is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, May 24 at Saline County Circuit Court.
