Residents in Blackwater will be without water for a short time next week.

The City of Blackwater will be replacing a clay valve to the stand pipe water tower on Monday, May 3.

The city’s water will be shut off beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday while the work is being completed. Once water is restored, a boil order will be in effect for 48-72 hours, minimum.

Residents are encouraged to gather up extra water to keep on hand while there is no water service.
