A Marshall man who has been charged with a felony for allegedly firing a weapon out of a vehicle on April 28 in Saline County is due in court next week.

According to a probable-cause statement, a Saline County deputy was dispatched to a residence on Magnolia Avenue in reference to threats. The reporting party advised he had received a text message from Aaron Michael Gieringer, and he felt Gieringer was going to harm his dog.

The deputy responded and observed a vehicle matching the description provided, which he observed to be occupied. As the deputy placed his vehicle in park, he said he observed Gieringer stick the barrel of a shotgun out of the driver’s window and fire one shot into the air in the southwest direction, where a residence is located approximately less than one mile away. The deputy ordered Gieringer to exit the vehicle five times, and he did not comply. A short time later, Gieringer complied and exited the vehicle.

Upon conducting an inventory search of the vehicle, the deputy says he located a shotgun, an assault rifle and two fired 12-gauge cartridges.

According to court documents, Gieringer- who originally listed as being an Oilton, Oklahoma, resident- is charged with a Class B Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Gieringer posted $15,000 surety bond on April 29.

Gieringer is scheduled for his initial arraignment at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, at Saline County Circuit Court.
