Gladys N. Turner, age 99, of Slater, died Saturday, May 15, 2021, at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at at Rehoboth Cemetery, with Rev. Ramona Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. 

Memorials are suggested to Slater Assembly of God Church.

Born May 17, 1921 in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Minnie Lynch Shrock.  On January 24, 1938 in Slater, she married Lawrence O. Turner, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2000.

She is survived by a son, Larry Turner of Oceanside, California; four grandchildren, Lawrence “Teddy” Twenter, Jeff Twenter, Lisa Turner, and Shawna Oder; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah Barnes, Avery Twenter, Maya Twenter, and Miles Pahl.  She was preceded in death by her daughter MaryJane Twenter; five sisters, Luella Page, Nadine Gabb, Frances Buck, Betty McDaniel, and Ethel Solomon; and a brother, Melvin Shrock.

Mrs. Turner was a long-time member of the Slater Assembly of God Church, and worked at Town & Country Shoe factory in Slater for a number of years.
