SafeWise has announced the release of the 7th annual “20 Safest Cities in Missouri” report for 2021, including one in the KMMO listening area in the Top 10.

The top five are Clever; Vandalia; Savannah; Oronogo; and Cottleville.

They are followed by No. 6 Glendale; No. 7 Battlefield; No. 8 Higginsville; No. 9 Pleasant Valley; and No. 10 Kearney.

Odessa comes in at No. 14 and Fayette at No. 19.

Boonville comes in at No. 53; Marshall at No. 74; Warrensburg at No. 79 in the Top 100. Sedalia ranks No. 107.

To identify the safest cities of 2021, SafeWise reviewed 2019 FBI crime report statistics (the most recent complete report available at the time of ranking) and population data.

Cities that fell below identified population thresholds- or that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI- were excluded from the report.
