
The Marshall City Council was asked to approve a resolution to execute a contract that was approved by the Marshall Municipal Utilities’ Board of Public Works.
At the council meeting on Monday, May 17, MMU General Manager Jeff Bergstrom explained it is a contract with Ahrens Contracting, Inc., for work needed where the power plant is being demolished.
Bergstrom said MMU was not able to get a deduction for regarding asbestos removal.
Bergstrom said MMU budgeted $3.2 million for the total project, and it is a little over $3 million with this contract, which is $238,610.
The council approved the resolution.
