A 27-year-old Keytesville man facing sex-related felony charges for allegedly inappropriately touching and having sex with a juvenile female in Chariton County last month is due in court on Tuesday, May 25.
According to a report from a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, on or about April 19, Wesley Elliot initiated a text conversation via SnapChat with a 13-year-old girl. A few days later, Elliot showed up at the teen’s house. Later that evening, Elliot was offered the opportunity to stay the night, and the girl stayed downstairs to sleep on the couch. Between midnight and 1 a.m. the next day, it is alleged that Elliot began touching her inappropriately, which led to Elliot having sexual intercourse with her.
Court documents say Elliot is charged with Unclassified Felonies for Statutory Rape or Attempt in the First Degree and Statutory Sodomy or Attempt- Deviate Sexual Intercourse- with a Person Less Than 14 Years Old. At this time, the court has ordered no bond.
Elliot is scheduled for a bond-appearance hearing at 1:30 p.m. at Chariton County Circuit Court.
