A 39-year-old Sedalia man has been charged with a felony for allegedly assaulting a woman on May 19.
A Sedalia Police report says officers reported to a disturbance. A woman said she “just got choked out” by Randall Routon. The officer noted the woman had marks on her neck consistent with her allegations. The woman also said Routon spit on her and hit her in the face while she was driving after picking up Routon from his place of work.
Routon told authorities that the woman hit him first. He was asked why the woman would have red marks on her neck. He denied choking her, saying he has never put his hands on her. Routon was arrested.
Court documents say Routon is charged with a Class D Felony for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree. Bond has not been set yet.
Routon’s initial appearance is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
