Area authorities were dispatched to the report of shots fired over this past weekend.

At approximately 12:28 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, the Marshall Police Department received information from Saline County E-911 concerning a report of gunshots in the 100 block of South Lafayette Avenue.

Upon officers’ arrival, they received information one person had been shot and was transported by personal vehicle to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment. Officers made two arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities have not released the names of the arrested persons.
