At the April 20 Marshall School Board meeting, a proposal was presented regarding extra-duty stipend recommendations/adjustments for the 2021-22 school year. The board tabled making a decision at that point until more information could be gathered.

According to unofficial minutes from the school board meeting on Tuesday, May 25, Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Kristen Niemeyer and MHS Principal Ian Verts answered any questions.

The board approved the proposal that includes for MHS:
— Add offensive and defensive coordinators (football) stipends in Category 14;
— Remove assistant freshman football coach from Category 7 and add an assistant coach in Category 4;
— Remove freshman football coach from Category 5, and add an assistant football coach in Category 4;
— Add a head girls wrestling coach to Category 2;
— Move NHS sponsor from Category 13 to Category 12; and
— Move Bird Cage to Category 9 and remove one sponsor.

For BMS:
— Remove Espirit Club from Category 14;
— Move BMS Stuco to Category 14 from Category 10; and
— Add an additional Stuco to Category 14.

The total additional cost to MHS will be $9,900, less a savings of $740 at BMS, leaving an additional cost of $9,250 to the district.
