A 43-year-old Tucson, Arizona, woman is facing multiple felony charges after a reported incident on March 4 last year in Concordia.

A police report says an officer responded to a residence to assist medics with an overdosed patient. Central dispatch advised that the caller stated that the patient had overdosed on heroin.

Melanie Hilbrenner met officers at the front door of the home and officers were taken to a man who was unresponsive. Officers also reported seeing a loaded AR 15 rifle and large knives throughout the home within reach of a 6-year-old child. They also located drug-related items, as well as several items used to consume the drugs.

Hilbrenner pleaded not guilty on April 19 to felony possession of a controlled substance; two felony charges for endangering the welfare of a child; and a felony for unlawful use of a weapon. Hilbrenner posted $25,000 cash bond on December 21, 2020.

During a court proceeding on May 17, Hilbrener’s attorney filed a Motion to Dismiss, which the Sate opposed.

Hilbrener’s next court appearance is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 7 at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
