A 61-year-old Sedalia man who was facing felonies for allegedly exhibiting a weapon in a threatening manner has had his charges reduced.

According to the original complaint, on or about June 1, 2020, a number of witnesses claim James Dean Turner, a convicted felon, knowingly exhibited a gun in an angry or threatening manner.

Turner was original facing a felony for unlawful possession of a firearm as well as a felony for unlawful use of a weapon exhibiting. During a court proceeding on May 17, the State amended the charges and Turner pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for peace disturbance.

The Court ordered Turner to serve 96-hours jail time with credit for time served.
