During her report at the school board meeting on Tuesday, May 25, Marshall Public Schools’ Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher said there are 57 employees leaving the district at the end of this school year.

Dr. Maher explained that there is a critical teacher shortage across the country.

Dr. Maher gave particulars of some probable reductions.

Later, Dr. Maher announced some important dates for the district in the coming weeks and months:
— June 2- The first session of summer school begins;
— June 29- The last day of the first session of summer school;
— July 12- Second session of summer school begins;
— July 30- Last day of second session of summer school;
— August 9-11- Kindergarten screening;
— August 12- Online registration; and
— August 25- First day of school- as of now, but that could change, due to the 2021-22 school calendar needing some tweaks.
