
A Carrollton man is facing a felony after he allegedly stole a firearm from a residence on May 26.
According to a probable cause statement, at approximately 11:15 p.m. an officer with the Carrollton Police Department responded to the 400 block of Grand Avenue in response to a stolen handgun. When the officer arrived she was informed that 23-year-old Dakoda Hendricks had allegedly stolen a Hi-Point 9 MM hand gun from the residence. While the officer was still on the scene, the reporting party received a phone call that placed Hendricks at a residence in Bosworth.
The officer requested that Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy make contact with Hendricks at the residence in Bosworth. When the deputy made contact with Hendricks he was allegedly found to be in possession of the handgun that had been reported as stolen.
Hendricks is charged with a felony for stealing a firearm/explosive weapon/ammonium nitrate and a felony for unlawful possession of a firearm. Hendricks is currently being held without bond.
Hendricks pleaded not guilty during his initial appearance on Friday, May 28. A Bond Hearing in this case is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 at Carroll County Circuit Court.
