
A few dozen residents attended the annual Memorial Day Service on the Saline County Courthouse grounds on the Marshall Square on a chilly Monday, May 31.
Along with the presentation of colors and laying of wreaths, Specialist and U.S. Army Veteran and Captain of the Civil Air Patrol Sharae Kelley talked about the true meaning of Memorial Day during her speech.
Kelley said, “According to Webster’s, Fearless means free from fear. So, in other words, they’re brave, bold, courageous, dauntless….

Following Kelley’s speech, the Rifle Honor Guard presented the 21-gun salute; TAPS was played; and Rev. Wellington Gorham Jr. offered the closing prayer.
