The Saline County Commission was asked to give an update on the forensic audit that was conducted by BKD of Springfield that was authorized last fall.

Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. says the commission has to go through BKD prior to making the audit public.

Guthrey did point out there were no findings from the auditors. He said, “It was a clean report; no wrongdoing on anybody. That’s what we were wanting.”

Commissioners say they haven’t received the final bill for the audit from BKD as of yet.

In other news, commissioners approved the recommendation from Sheriff Cindi Mullins to go with the bid of $95,000 from HSM Hegarty Sheet Metal and Construction, of Grain Valley, to replace the stucco and guttering at the jail.
