
A 26-year-old Scott City woman has been charged with felonies in two area counties following a hit-and-run traffic crash on Wednesday, June 2.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Cathryn Victoria Jaco left the scene of a crash at the 96 mile marker on I-70 in Cooper County just before 10:30 a.m. Jaco continued to drive the vehicle westbound into Saline County, where she stopped the vehicle at a residence on Route YY in Saline County. The vehicle she was driving, which had suffered extensive damage, also was reported as stolen.
Court documents say Jaco is facing a Class E Felony for Leaving the Scene of an Accident- Property Damage Exceeding $1,000 and a driving-related misdemeanor in Cooper County; and a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree. Bond is set at $5,000 in Cooper County and $10,000 in Saline County.
Jaco’s initial court appearance is pending in each county.
