Two area residents were injured in a rollover traffic crash early this morning in Johnson County.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when the westbound vehicle driven by 24-year-old Shyann Cole, of Warrensburg, traveled off the roadway and overturned before coming to rest in the median. Cole had to be air lifted to Research Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Madison Sparks, of Sedalia, also sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Research Hospital.

The crash happened at approximately 1:26 a.m. on Highway 50, just west of County Road 601.
