A 41-year-old Sedalia man is facing drug related felonies following a traffic stop in Saline County in February.

Authorities claim that during a search of the vehicle, on February 6, the officer located a syringe with a plunger cap; a digital scale; a glove; and a clear plastic bag that contained methamphetamine in side on overnight bag that was found inside a pillow case in the bed of the truck. The officer claims when the driver, Everett Franklin Smith IV, was searched at the jail, three small bags and a folded dollar bill fell out of the suspect’s pants pocket.

Smith was formally arraigned and pleaded not guilty on Monday, April 26, to felony charges that include: drug trafficking; possession of a controlled substance; and delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a County Jail.

A Plea/Trial Setting in this case is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, June 14 at Saline County Circuit Court.
