court-charges-dismissed

A Fayette man who was facing a felony charge following and incident on August 5, 2020, has had the charge dismissed.

According to a Fayette Police report, Christopher Turner Jr. was arrested after a man reported he was struck by a vehicle and two occupants of the car got out of the vehicle and began to assault him.

Turner waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty on August 11 to a Class B Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt. Bond was reduced from $50,000 cash only to $4,950 with 10-percent allowed on August 25. Turner posted percentage bond on August 27. However, after a violation of a bond condition, the court reinstated the $50,000 cash-only bond on November 10.

Turner was scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Thursday, June 17, at Howard County Circuit Court.

According to an updated release from the courts system, the case has been dismissed. No other information is available at this time.
