
Sandra Lee “Sam” Hilton Bucksath, age 81, of Marshall, MO, died Friday, June 18, 2021, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born July 7, 1939, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Harry Eugene Hilton and Edna Mae Caton Hilton. Sam lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1957 graduate of Marshall High School. In 1959, she married Leonard Plattner, who preceded her in death on January 30, 1983, and on October 10, 1986 she married Henry Garrett “H.G.” Bucksath Jr., who preceded her in death on January 10, 1990. Sam worked as a receptionist at Fitzgibbon Hospital for many years as well as at Marshall Surgical Associates. She enjoyed helping keep the class of 57 connected by arranging get togethers and reunions through the years.
Survivors include two daughters, Kelly Fulton of Marshall and Becky VanVactor (Matt) of rural Hardeman; four grandchildren: Aaron Fulton (Morgan), Emily Guarino (Brian), Samuel VanVactor and William VanVactor; one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Guarino; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Plattner; and two sisters, Mary Ann Davis and Betty VanArsdale.
