Two persons had to flown from the scene of a traffic crash involving three vehicles in Saline County on Friday, June 18.

A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Reed Branstetter, of Independence, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the median cables, continued onto the westbound lanes and struck a westbound vehicle, driven by 40-year-old Ashlie Lee, of Warsaw, which caused Lee’s vehicle to strike another westbound vehicle, driven by 47-year-old Andrew Dijohn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Branstetter and Dijohn were flown by Life Flight helicopter to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment of serious injuries. Lee sustained minor injuries and a passenger in her vehicle- 43-year-old Jason Judd, of Warsaw, suffered moderate injuries- and they were transported by ambulances to Centerpoint for treatment.

The crash happened at 5:40 p.m. at the 67.4 mile marker on I-70.
