A 52-year-old Waverly man had to be flown from the scene of a rollover all-terrain vehicle crash in Lafayette County on Friday, June 18.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a westbound Polaris Ranger, driven by 44-year-old Stephen Hinson, of Waverly, overturned and partially ejected a passenger- David Heartman.

Heartman, who was not wearing a safety device- was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence for treatment of serious injuries. Hinson was not injured.

The crash happened at 10:40 p.m. on Logging Trail off of Route N.
