Several bids were up for discussion and possible approval for Marshall Municipal Services during meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, June 21.

Municipal Services Director Bill Anderson explained there was only a bid received for replacement of a couple of roofs.

Anderson added, the bids also were higher than they expected. Anderson’s recommendation to reject the bids was approved by the council.

Anderson requested to table a decision on some other bids received.

The council approved Anderson’s recommendation.

In other news, the council approved Lafayette Avenue to be closed off from North to Marion Streets for the “Jim The Wonder Dog Days” event on Saturday, June 26. The event was postponed in May due to rainy weather.
