With a good percentage of property assessments in Saline County increasing this year, residents have a chance to contest the new assessed value.
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, June 24, Clerk Debbie Russell read a public notice about the county’s Board of Equalization hearings scheduled for next month.
Russell says officials are asking residents to set up an informal hearing prior to the B.O.E.
Residents must contact the Assessor’s Office by June 30 to contest the assessed valuation of their property. If residents wait until they receive their tax bill in November, that will be too late.
The phone number to reach the Assessor’s Office is 886-4380. Russell’s office can be reached at 886-3331.
